After reading "The Secret DreamWorld of a Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella, what's next?
"By the Pricking of My Thumbs" by Agatha Christie.
Besides surfing the internet, chat online, write blog and watch TV, I read in my free time. Agatha Christie's novels are occasional reads. I enjoy reading Christian books e.g: Boundaries-When to say No, Purpose Driven Life(Rick Warren) etc.. Books like the Chicken Soup series are heartwarming read too.
The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency was one gd read. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the story. I wasn't really reader from young. In fact I seldom read. I was a TV addict. But since I started working, I began reading more. Started with reading the newspapers everyday, read entertainment magazines. Then slowly moved on to reading novels and Practical know how books.
My childhood times I do read lah but it was mainly Nancy Drew's Mystery books. I have quite a collection but mum threw them away when the pages turned yellowish & old. Now I will bar any1 from doing that. haha...
I read Chinese novels too. You Jin's travelogues and short stories are my cup of tea. "Ran Shao De Shi Zi" (Burning Lion), "Da Hu Zi De Chun Yu Dong"(Big Beard's Spring & Winter).. I was like the odd one out in school when the rest of my classmates read english books while I indulge occasionally in You Jin. haha..
My classmates weren't really surprise though cos I'm the kind that spourt deep chinese according 2 them. but frankly speaking my mandarin's reasonble only lah. U ask me to write an essay off hand I sure got lots of words can't recall. I would rather typed them out in computer. But there's a price to pay, my spoken English wasn't as fluent. In fact I did my thinking in Chinese then translate into English. Now can do both ways. Phew..
