"School link to eating disorders possible. Study finds that a third of at-risk girls had been on TAF programme." 2day's front page headline.

How come? Well... "over weight" children are singled out & required to join TAF "club" 2 "slim" down during recess time or after school. Exercise & watch diet. It's gd for them. but the thing is, about 60% of them said they have been teased about their weight, there've been name callings & in canteen can only eat certain food, it seems... The psychological effects.. made some of them eat & then vomit out all the food (Bulimia)

When I was in secondary school I was still in the normal weight range... so I nid not join the TAF club which some called FAT Club when u read the initials backward. But the yrs after I was clearly over weight, yet I wasn't singled out by my PE instructor. thanks 2 my small frame & small bones structure.. @ dat time, I didn't look over weight.

But i can imagine how it feels 2b in the TAF club. Is there a better way 2 help the children lose weight w/o them being subjected 2 the teasing, name callings? Also give them the space & pace that they are comfortable with 2 slim down.
Too forceful, & the plan will backfire... There nids 2b a balance.
